Areas-Berlin was founded in 2007 with the aim of providing guided tours in the field of architecture and urbanism. The tours include: museums where the topic of architecture is of great importance; historical housing estates; contemporary and ecological housing estates; culturally and historically significant building complexes; modernist buildings; architecture produced after the reunification of Berlin; and places of significant landscape value. Areas Berlin also offers extended events such as courses, meetings and seminars and since 2021 also offers visits through virtual platforms. Activities can be in Portuguese, Spanish, German or English. We work together with professors from local universities and professionals from public agencies and the private sector.
Areas-Berlin has an extensive resume and a vast list of clients from various parts of Brazil and other countries. Groups of students and university professors, work colleagues, groups of architects and people from the most varied professional fields have already been served by Areas-Berlin throughout these years of intense activity.
“My relationship with Berlin goes back a long time. I was in Germany for the first time in 1989 for an internship in Munich and I got to know the city of Berlin when it was still divided by the wall. On that occasion, I experienced a little bit of how people lived in a city separated from its other half and visited the former East Berlin, the capital of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany). In 1995, I lived here on a scholarship from the German government to take a course in urban planning and the environment. At that time, the major renovation works were just beginning. I was able to experience changes of great relevance to the recent history of the German capital and since the year 2000 I moved with my family permanently here. My passion for this city has always spurred me to investigate more and more about it.”

I am an architect, specialized in Urban Environmental Planning at the Technical University of Berlin – TU and Master in Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo – USP, I worked several years in the Brazilian urban and environmental public sector, as a professor at universities in the state of São Paulo and I've been driving Areas-Berlin since 2007.
